Wow, time has flown by this last year!! Jake and I have LOVED being parents to our spunky little guy Britton! He is an active, entertaining, and very mobile little guy! He started walking at 10 months and has been very busy ever since. He loves to be in the kitchen and open every drawer and cupboard and bang anything he can together to see what noise it makes. He loves to climb up the stairs, but luckily for us is still a little apprehensive about going down the stairs. He loves to read books, watch baby signing time, swim, explore, and LOVES TO EAT!!! ( I wonder who he got that from..:) , At one year he weighs 24 pounds and is 32 inches long. he says : mama, dada, baba ( bottle ), nana ( banana ), No, and lots of words in Britton language! He still loves to sleep and sleeps from 8 pm until 9 am pretty much everyday. He then takes a nap from 10-1 and then another nap usually from 3-4. I dont blame him for being so tired after watching him climb everything in the house, go up all the stairs, and play with everything in sight. He is very social and is constantly waving at everyone he sees, this includes the grocery store, church, anyone at the mall, garbage men, and especially our waiters at any restaurant. The minute you say its time for night night, he immediately starts to wave at everyone in the room, because he knows its time to go! This post is probably pretty boring, but since I dont scrapbook , I like to remember all these little details. Well Britton, we have loved this last year with you and cant wait for many many more to come!!! I also wanted to thank my family for all coming to celebrate Brittons bday with us and thanks to our friends the Oslunds, Stringhams, Youngs, and Halls!! WE love you all ! xoxo

This book has changed my life!!!

So.... since we have been married, I have made about 20 dinners, these dinners have either been spaghetti, taco soup, or something in the crockpot! Now, we have been married for 2 1/2 years, so that is A LOT of the three items stated above! Lucky for me Jake loves to cook and is EXCELLENT at doing so. I have always felt a little guilty about the fact that I didnt cook very much for him and when I did it was kinda boring food, tasty, but nothing fancy. WELL.. a month or two ago this has all changed and I have this featured cookbook to thank for it. My mom was in the checkout line at a local Marshalls store in Texas, she came across this book and thought she would get it and see how it was. Jake and I have been trying to eat really healthy since we moved here and it has been Awesome to have this book with nothing but healthy choices to choose from. Some of the things I have made and we love are : salmon with a mustard crust, homemade wheat deep dish pizza, ground turkey cilantro and tomatillo salsa enchiladas, eggplant zuchini lasagna, turkey burgers, sweet potato fries, etc.. Anyhow , now I LOVE to cook , especially when I know everything in this cookbook is healthy and delicious! BON APETIT!! Hopefully you get a chance to try it out yourself :)

CRUISE
My two cute boys enjoying the fountains at market street!
Oh my!!! A cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, AND Jake's wonderful parents came to watch our little man since little munchkins on a cruise does not sound like paradise. He would literally probably have crawled off the boat. This little boy is darling, but LOVES to get into EVERYTHING!! We had such a wonderful time! My stud of a dad took our entire family ( 17 ) of us on this trip ! We loved every single second of it. The food of course was amazing, my favorite things being the barbequed spare ribs, yup, got those a few nights, filet mignon, salmon, shrimp, and dont even think I didnt order the chocolate melting cake EVERY night on the boat along with some extra ice cream. So what if the number on my scale changed a bit when I got home, it was totally worth it! We went snorkeling, had massages on the beach, played in the sand, read wonderful books, played many many games of " wits and wagers", " perudo" and " scum "! we even went to a few shows on the ship. Most days we took a 1-3 hour nap and enjoyed laying out in the sun. My family ROCKS!! each and every one of you :) here are LOTS of pictures to enjoy! and THanks a MILLION Rob and Jenny for watching our little squirt for the whole week. xoxo

concerts in the park and fun in the pool!
Concerts in the park and fun in the pool!!!
Since living in The Woodlands, we have found lots of fun free stuff to do!! On Thursday nights at Market Street there are free concerts in the park! They are WAY fun! There is live music, fun food, and fun people to look at! The last concert we went to even had some dancers! Jake and I love to go and Britton enjoys it too. He loves watching all the little kids dance and play and he loved watching the guy play the drums! The last few days we have been watching my niece and nephew Kate and Robbie while my brother Brad and his wife went to San Antonio for my brother to have back surgery! What else do you do with three little kids under the age of 2? GO SWIMMING!! We have a little baby pool outside next to our pool, which the little guys love to play in! We had a fun time in the pool and I even got a little tan which is a serious improvement from my former ghostly white skin :) We are glad that Brad's surgery went well and hope he feels great for our upcoming cruise in two weeks!!! Jake's parents are flying out to watch Britton so that Jake and I can enjoy being just the two of us on our cruise! We are pretty excited to go and cant wait to eat all the yummy food!! Well here are some pictures to capture some fun moments!!

San Antonio with the Oslunds!!
Jake and Billy enjoying the boatride!!
Jake and I enjoying our first meal in San Antonio at CASA RIO!!!
We just got back from a DELIGHTFUL vacation with our friends Billy and MacKenzie this weekend to San Antonio. Thank you Brad and Elizabeth and Cheryl for watching our sweet little man so that we could have a little romantic getaway just the two of us. We stayed at the Hyatt Wild Oak Resort and it was beautiful. There was a HUGE lazy river, sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor pool, two waterslides, golf course, and much much more! Jake and I got there Friday and enjoyed the pool during the day and that night we went to the Riverwalk downtown. We went to dinner at a place called Casa Rio that has been there since 1946 and it was incredible. After dinner we went on the 40 min boatride around the river and enjoyed the scenery. We then hurried back to the resort to meet up with our friends for a fun night of games and chatting. We stayed up until 2 am which was SUPER late for us, but so fun!!! The next day we hung out at the pool and enjoyed a delicious meal at the resort. Sat night we returned to the riverwalk for another fun boat ride and one of the best meals ever. We went to a place called Iron Cactus and got the best fajitas any of us had ever had. After we stuffed our faces the waiter insisted we tried some of their mexican doughnuts, we thought we were too full to fit anything else in our stomach's but after one bite, we ate all 8 doughnuts and left happy and full from dinner. We had another fun night of games and then came back today. It was so fun to get away for a few days and enjoy new parts of Texas that Jake had not seen yet. Thanks Oslunds for a wonderful trip and thanks again Brad and Elizabeth and Cheryl for watching mr. britton. Happy mothers day everyone. My mom is wonderful and I am so happy I get to spend the day with her today!! xoxoxo
