Howdy from Texas!!! Jake, Britton , and I were able to go down to Texas this Thanksgiving to be with my family! There are now 19 of us just in my immediate family, so it is quite the bunch to get all together! My brother Brad and his wife Elizabeth just had a little boy Robbie who is almost 4 weeks old. It was fun to introduce Britton to him! We had such a great time in Texas! WE ate some DELICIOUS food both at my parents house and at some great restraunts! The second night we were there my mom suprised Jake and I with a date to go and see one of Jake's favorite bands THE ZACH BROWN BAND! They were playing locally in The Woodlands where I am from! It was the perfect temperature for an outside venue! We had a wonderful time and my parents were sweet to take Britton for us that night so that we could have a night out just the two of us! Thanks mom and dad! The boys played golf on Thanksgiving morning and the some of the girls went on a walk with the grandkids which was way fun! We also were able to celebrate my brother Brad and his wife Elizabeths Birthdays while we were there! I loved being at home with my family for the holidays! Britton was wonderful for us on the plane which I greatly appreciated, Jake you were good too :) Well here are some pics to enjoy! ( side note: Britton already rolls from his back to his stomach now and seems to be teething already! He is growing up soooo fast! )

THE PROUD PARENTS!!!!!!!!

HELLO HELLO HELLO!!! I have been sooo anxious to put these darling new pictures up! Britton was blessed at our church on Oct. 11, 2009! Jake gave him the most beautiful blessing ever!! I of course bawled my eyes out for the ENTIRE sacrament meeting! We blessed him in Jake's parents ward, because I am not exactly fond of our ward! It was a great experience to share with our family and friends! My parents and sister and her two kids flew out to celebrate such a special time with us! We had fun the days before the blessing , taking Britton to the zoo for his first time and riding his first train at the Hogle Zoo. There was a little baby elephant there that was born the same month Britton was! The day after the blessing Britton and I flew to Texas for a week. Jake went with his dad and brothers to California for the weekend, so I decided it would be fun to go on my own little adventure while he was gone! I am toooo scared to be home alone at night without Jake. I am 25 years old and am still scared of the dark. I was a little nervous flying alone with Britton, but it turned out just fine! Luckily, there were 4 nice guys that helped us get through security. On the flight home I drank a little too much water and was about to wet my pants, I was trying to figure out how to manuever getting to the bathroom and holding Britton, but it just didnt seem to work out in my head, so I decided to ask one of the stewardess' to hold him while I went. Lucky for me , she was delighted to watch him for me. I hadn't even thought about what to do in that situation on a flight. If I fly with him again, I wont drink anything on the flight :) We had such a wonderful time in Texas, I got pretty sick while I was there, but my mom was there to make me homemade chicken noodle soup and watch my little man while I took naps! We went shopping and got pedicures and we also had a fun little baby shower for my brothers wife! My brother Brad and his wife Elizabeth are having a little boy that will be just 2 1/2 months younger than Britton. We are hoping they will be best little buds! So at Brittons 2 month appt he weighed 11 pounds 6 ounces and was 25 inches long! He was in the 97th percentile for height, but only 45 for weight, he is just long and skinny! At two weeks he was 8 pounds 13 ounces and 23 inches long. Alright, here are some cute pictures!!!

I think he looks like such a little man in this outfit!

He is still kinda deciding how he feels about bath time :)

This is our happy little boy!! WE LOVE YOUR CUTE SMILE!

I cant believe that my little man is already one month old! Ya, so one month is obviously not very "OLD" , but it is when you are a first time mom! Its amazing how quickly time flies! I think I get a little more obsessed with this kid each day! I actually hate driving by myself with him in the backseat , because I feel like he is too far away! I really hate how babies have to face towards the back of the car at this age. It makes it IMPOSSIBLE to see them and when they cry it takes everything in me not to immediately pull over so that I can see if everything is alright!! This labor day weekend Jake and Britton and I went up to Jake's families farmhouse up in Heber and had such a great time! We went up to the outlets in park city and ate dinner at the Loco Lizard. We did a late night run to Arbys and enjoyed some lazy time just hanging out and enjoying one another! It was a beautiful drive through the canyon, Britton loved seeing all the different colors of trees and leaves! Last night Britton came out with my friend dana and I out to eat at Carrabas and a quick shopping trip to Nordstroms! Its so fun to have a full time buddy with me all the time! I love you Britton and love hanging out with you each and every day! Im also glad that you FINALLY love bath time and that you FINALLY started sleeping in your little cradle next to our bed! You are growing up and are being such a good boy!!! some pictures-----

The Last Three Weeks

So the last three weeks have flown by! We have absolutely LOVED having a new little member of our family! Britton has been a joy in our home and we have loved being parents! Jake has been an INCREDIBLE father to Britton! He is more than willing to help out in anyway that he can. He gladly changes diapers, bathes Britton ( even though Britton HATES bath time ), he feeds him bottles when I decide to pump, puts Britton to bed most of the time. Jake usually has the night shift and then I wake up early to breastfeed him for the morning shift. Britton has slept in our room almost every night since he has been home! I am soooo neurotic about if he is breathing and sleeping ok, that it actually saves me time just to have him in our room so I can glance at him with every little peep that he makes! He has been a great little sleeper for us which is nice. He has had a few nights sleeping 8-9 hours straight and then most of the time averaging from 5-7 hours straight. He loves to be held by Jake and I most of the time, so putting him in his crib makes him feel kinda lonely! He has pretty bad gas and does not mind letting it out about every 15 min or so! Jake and I cant help but laugh our heads off with each one! Neither Jake or I have ANY problems letting out a little toot in front of people, so its pretty fitting that our son would be the same way! When I took Britton to his 2 week appointment the pediatrician told me that he was in the 97th percentile for height! I am soo excited to watch this little guy play ball when he gets older! Well here are some pictures to enjoy of our little man!!

BRITTON JACOB MOON!!!!

Oh my goodness!!!!! I am SO EXCITED to finally blog about my sweet little boy!!! This will be a lot of probably boring details for some, but I wanted to have the details for me for later , so anyway here goes : So I went to my doctors appointment last week and was dilated to a 3 and was 90% effaced, so my doctor started to talk to me about getting induced, since I was as large as a house, I thought it was the perfect plan to get this little guy out of me so that I could finally hold and see baby Britton! I was scheduled for Sunday the 9th at 6:00 am, but then Dr. Nance called me during the week to tell me that his son was coming home on Monday morning from his mission and would like to start the induction on Sat night the 8th, so Jake and I agreed that would work just fine! My mom bought her ticket for Sat and we picked her up and met Jake's family and my aunt and her family at Magelbys Fresh for my final meal before Britton got here! It was delicious :) , after we ate, we walked over to Jamestown ( where my grandma is living ) to have a family prayer before Jake and I went to the hospital. Jake said the prayer and I bawled my eyes out through the whole thing. It really hit me during the prayer that I was finally going to be having this baby and would get to meet him in the next little bit. Thanks Jake for such a beautiful prayer for Britton and I !! After dinner, Jake and I rushed home to get our bags to head to the hospital. We arrived at 8 pm sat night and they started me on Pitocin at 9 pm. The anesthesiologist didnt arrive until 10 pm, so I felt an hours worth of contractions, and came to realize natural childbirth would never be on my list of things to do before I die :) OUCH!!! The guy came in and gave me, not one, but TWO epidurals ! After placing the first one, he says " I dont like where this one is, I am going to have to take it out and start over, " I started to laugh until I realized he was serious. I told him , " you are probably my least favorite person right now !! " he laughed at me and just kept putting the second one in! Jake was fascinated by the whole thing and watched each step the anesthesiologist made! After that the nurse came in to check me and I was then at a 4 about 11 pm. The epidural kinda freaked me out, I didnt like the feeling of not being able to feel my legs at all. I started shaking REALLY bad and Jake and my mom had to take turns just holding my hand . Around midnight my mother in law and sister in law came to the hospital , I decided a few weeks before I delivered that I was going to let my mom, mother in law, and sisters in law watch as I gave birth to baby Britton. Some people told me I was crazy for letting so many people in the room for my first birth, but I am a pretty open person and I thought it would be a meaningful experience to let them all come and watch! This is Jake's parents first grandchild and would be my moms first time seeing one of her 8 grandchildren born. While we were all just hanging out in the room, I could feel the pressure of his head heading down further and further and knew it would not be long before I was going to need to push. The nurse came in about 1:45 am and I asked her how much longer it would be and if she thought she should check me again, she told me that she thought it would still be quite a bit longer and that she would check me later, well, I just felt strongly that he would be coming soon, so she checked me and I was completely dilated and ready to go. I think she was pretty suprised seeing as how first time moms tend to take on average about 10-12 hours . She said she would call my doctor and we would do some practice pushes. Well the next thing I knew, my doctor walks into the delivery room and is putting me in the stirrups and says, " Well Michelle, I am going to have you start pushing on your next contraction, " I was pretty nervous seeing as how I had never practiced or even thought about how I was supposed to push ! Well, Jake started counting to ten three times with each contraction and 12 pushes later BABY BRITTON was born!! He weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 22 inches long. This little guy has the biggest hands and feet I have ever seen on a baby! He will definitely be playing Basketball!! Jake and I spent the next two nights at the hospital and just enjoyed being parents to our little squirt! It truly is a life changing experience to bring such a celestial little spirit into the world. Its amazing how instantly you become so completely selfless and care so much about a person that you just barely met! I have loved EVERY minute of being Brittons mom. I love all his cute little sounds, the way he smells, his little tongue that he rarely has in his mouth, his twice a day blow-outs in his diaper, how he holds up both of his hands in a fist above his head and stretches every few minutes, his dark brown soft hair, and his adorable little cry!! I have read other people's blogs who have children and always wondered how come people are so OBSESSED with their children, but I have to say I am also guilty of this habit! Its hard not to fall completely in love with someone that brings so much joy into your life! Having a baby is also a time where you fall in love with your husband all over again. Being at the hospital was a pretty emotionally and physically draining experience. I had a stage two tear causing me to have an episiotomy and after my catheter was taken out, I had a hard time controlling my bladder immediately after, but Jake always just seemed to be there to take care of me, no matter how unpleasant the circumstance was. I truly could not have gone through this whole experience without you Jake, you are AMAZING!! My mom has also been such a huge help. She actually stayed at our house last night and slept on our couch and took care of Britton all through the night! Jake and I appreciated the much needed rest! Wow, this was a LONG post!! I love being a mommy and look forward to each new day with my little boy! Here are some fun pictures to enjoy. My camera is lame, so thanks to everyone else that I stole these pictures from!
